Windows to Mac
This Blog will begin to contain posts of the continual story of converting real estate business functions for an agent from a Microsoft, PC-Base to an Apple Mac Base. The posts will be categorized as “PC to Mac” so they can easily be found.
Background:
The purchase of an iPhone back in 2007 prompted a thought of moving to a different operating mode not dependent on Windows and PC’s. However the Real Estate world was geared toward PC’s and a change look difficult at best. Now with an iPad purchase and iPhone4 the seemless integration between these two now essentiial tools has lead to an identification of a weak link the Windows PC. However, change is difficult especially if it is unnecessary. Perhaps the PC was only a percieved weak link.
The final straw came when I needed to check an email and started the PC up. Then I thought, hey I can check the mail on my iPad. As the PC screen flickered to life I hit the button on the iPad and was instantly taken to the email I needed and I forwarded it on to where it needed to go. Meanwhile the PC is still starting up. I checked all my other emails on the iPad and checked my calendar too. 18 minutes after I had slid the power button on the PC it finished starting up and showed three different products that wanted to be updated. I went to the big Windows button in th Left corner and chose Shutdown as I had already completed the tasks which I had started the PC up for. Then I thought, “If I didn’t have the iPad how much time would I have wasted just to forward an email?” Then I thought, “How much time am I wasting trying to use Microsoft Products on my PC? Maybe I should have a Mac since the iPad and iPhone work so we.”
So there it is. The premise is can I save time and do everything I need to do for my Real Estatge Business on a Mac, an iPad and an iPhone.
